Something just ocurred to me. I know it's probably not going to be, but do you think this movie would be clever enough to pay tribute to all the PSAs at the end of the episodes in a cool way?

(The Hicks-ing better reflects what will probably be. We should all face the very real possibility that more of the fan community will dislike blatant, forced nods than will like them. It's almost a no-win situation for revival films. If they don't pay homage, they get slammed. If they do, they get slammed. Not that I am pessimistic. I think it could be a fun movie. It will, in all likelihood, not be a great movie. I don't think the source material "deserves" great, good, mediocre, bad or atrocious. I want a movie I will like, but I will not be offended if I am not given a movie I will like.)

Here's Gordon-Levitt talking about being in G.I. Joe. Don't know how I missed this video. It's been around for months and months.

At least he's being honest about the kind of movie he's made.

Here he is being generally charming. If the Internet convinces Warner Bros. to make him the Joker, I think he might actually manage to pull it off.

Of course, we all know just how successful the Internet has been at getting actors cast into roles (Patrick Stewart in X-Men excluded).

What's wrong with you?

Despite all the venom, (sic), I've spewed about this movie thus far, I find myself getting excited for it. This is against my better judgement, but I can't help it. The newest trailer looks pretty cool, and it looks like Quaid is going to be respectable as Gen. Hawk. From what I can tell in the latest trailer they are making Duke more like Flint. I don't really like that, but we'll see how they pull it off.

One thing I really do not like is the mark-V-super-duper-AR15 suits. They look dumb, and lead to the worst moment of footage I've seen so far. The one where the Baroness shoots a rocket down a street at 2 of the Joes and they tumble and cartwheel out of the way. I swear that is the exact same scene as was in TF1, but with the background CGI'd to be different and the skin on the characters changed from Jazz and Ratchet to Duke and Ripcord. Stupid!

I declared to a buddy last night that I'll be there opening night, but I am nervous despite how much my inner child says "'splosions are kewl!!!" when I see the trailers.

I just hope they get Snake-Eyes right. If he utters so much as a sylable, I may get up and leave the theater.

I agree, but I put the over/under on the number of times we see these at about 50. Once they get introduced, (probably 1/3 of the way into the movie), we'll see them the rest of the movie. They are all over the posters and trailers. Why do that if they're not in the movie quite a bit.

If I was a betting man I would not go against at least one of those happening. Are they being made by the same production companies? I.E. is it possible for that to happen?

Paramount Pictures and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are associated with both, so it's a possibility.
