Upfront hasn't happened yet, but I found this. It's a link to all the shows for every network and whether they'll be renewed or not. Bookmark it, as it'll be updated very often, apparently.

I was surprised to see on that page that King of the Hill was canceled.

No way I'll bookmark that. I'll just come here and click through to it. That way it doesn't clutter my bookmarks. I'm very judicious about what actually gets a bookmark on my computer.

I'm happy and sad by some of the news on that list:

Sad:

The Unusuals: A long shot. - watched the first few episodes and really liked it
The Big Bang Theory: Already renewed. - stupidest half hour on TV
Dollhouse: Could go either way. Now hearing it's a long shot.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: A long shot.
Chuck: Could go either way. - hope it makes it back
Life: A long shot. Now hearing it's a goner.
Reaper: It's a goner.

Happy:

Lost: Already renewed.
Scrubs: Prospects brightening.
How I Met Your Mother: Sure thing.
Fringe: Sure thing.
Knight Rider: It's a goner. - I no longer will be obligated to DVR and watch this every week out of nostalgia for the original
Southland: Sure thing.

I'll be interested to see which of the ones on the fence fall which way.

NBC already had their upfront and I've collected the new shows. The others' aren't for a while, yet.

Something funny about that, I glanced at last year's Upfront thread, and noticed that not ONE new NBC show from last year made it to this year. Yikes.

That is cool Chuck will probably be back. Sucks about Life and Terminator. Life had a great over-all story and I'd love to see them wrap that up. I think they hinted at it, but never specifically spelled it out. Maybe they could do a 2 hour wrap-up movie?

Same with Terminator, but I doubt they could do it in 2 hours.

Looked back at those new NBC shows, and yeah, that is funny. I watched My Own Worst Enemy and KR, (but only out of nostalgia and for the hot chicks). MOWE was meh. I'm not sad its gone.

From what I saw in that list, most of the new shows in 2008 on the big 4 aren't going to be back. Happily Fringe is one of the few.

Chuck and TSCC are two of the four shows I watch every week, along with Lost and Fringe (it was five before, of course, before BSG's wonderful conclusion). They are also two of the most creative, entertaining, and character-driven series on the air today. TSCC reached BSG-levels of writing brilliance this season, particularly with that awe-inspiring *season* finale. And Chuck is quite simply the MOST FUN TV program in recent memory, especially for us geeks. I hope to God they both get renewed, although I’ll be fine if just Chuck gets a new season, since it seems to be the one on steadier ground. But if both get canceled, I will murdalize the dipshits at NBC and Fox who pull the strings.

How about cutting the frakking 8-minute overruns of American Whore – I mean Idol – you’ve been playing the last few weeks and using the money saved toward, oh I don’t know, helping to FUND TSCC, Fox? How’s that for an idea, you dimwitted, Nielsen-obsessed slags?

Need more info on the new shows, but I think I saw a clip of Flash Forward and it looks interesting. We'll see.

I'm excited for this show, sorry. I remember watching the original as a kid in the hospital the night after my brother broke his arm. It was awesome! Plus those 2 clips look pretty decent. It doesn't hurt that they have 2 hot chicks in the show, and that they ditched the red jump-suits for the Visitors.

FYI, I rarely get a chance to sit down and check my email at home. I usually have to weed through them on my phone and hope I don't miss anything important.

BTEs were different. If you look back at 2007 and 2008, you'll see that, much like the networks do for advertisers, I do a little presentation for you guys. I usually wait until the upfronts are over and then compile the descriptions of the new shows and release one network per day, so you guys can comment before I announce the next network's shows. I was even going to try and find VIDEOS this year.

I thought you guys liked that.

If not, that's cool. But, if you do want me to continue to do that, give me some time so that the upfronts can finish, and I can put together the info. I won't disappoint...

As an added incentive, since msunyata wants me to start writing for another site, I was going to post the Upfront presentation there, too. But, since ya'll (well most of you all) are my boys, you were going to get the exclusive....

I LOVE the upfront stuff you've done in the past, but when you started the thread it seemed like there either wasn't as much information, (available to you to provide to us) as prior years, or you didn't have time to post it. I figured I'd do my part to try and help out.

I will stop doing that and will wait for your presentation and comment on the info as you present it.

One other thing that probably influenced this is that there are a few shows that we were all watching anxiously for news on, (Chuck and TSCC come to mind).

Except that it'd be a forty-year-old and it would go something more like, "Your life has been SO officially canceled." Followed by, "Game over."
