Will this season, too, have the stink of Glau all over it?

It almost didn't, based on the events of this episode.

Three episodes in and this show just keeps upping the ante, with mature, thoughtful stories that not only forward the plot but develop the characters further (particularly young John). The themes are well-established and they never come across as either too heavy-handed or too juvenile.

And these writers know how to tell a deft, intelligent, and MEANINGFUL time-travel story, unlike some people on a show that shall remain nameless that airs right after on a different network. :P

Another terrific episode last night. I would be remiss if I didn't mention what a great job Brian Austin Green is doing on the show. His portrayal of Derek is excellent, and the writing supporting that character (all the characters) is superb. These guys are on their A-game practically every episode, and know how to tell character-centric stories that make you actually FEEL.

They writers and showrunners have set up several key themes that underscore a lot of the on-screen action, and build upon them. Sarah as a mother is one of them, and the last couple episodes in particular have focused on her protective nature, both as an extension of every mother's protective feelings for her child and her larger sense of caring for others. At the same time, they're exploring her shortcomings as a mother to John, her inability to let him simply live a normal life in the face of the impending doom of the human race. And in the meantime, John is just beginning to become the man he needs to be in the future.

All of that is occurring against the backdrop of this cat-and-mouse, back-and-forth struggle against the machines.

The only other genre shows that are doing as good a job intertwining the meta-plot with character studies are Battlestar Galactica and Lost.

I'm still a couple weeks behind here, so can't comment on the current episode. I've definitely liked this season a lot so far.

On a side note, I didn't realize Charley's wife had such big bazoombas until last ep (The Mousetrap). So tragic.

Looks like it'll be pre-empted next week for Baseball, so that'll help me catch up.

Fox did it... They finally DID it.

They gave TSCC a FULL SEASON ORDER!!!



HELL YEAH! Could it be? Could they actually be learning from past mistakes?!? From what I read, Fox execs actually credited the *creative* strength of the show as one big factor in the full-season order, in spite of its average ratings.

Fox execs rewarding something for its creativity and excellent writing?? WTF is going on?!

This is good to hear. I was hearing the opposite: that it's days were numbered.

This week's episode was another winner. The fight scene between Cameron and the female Terminator in the elevator was priceless. lol

Catherine (or CEO-1001 as I call her) being THIS close to discovering John had me on edge. Her ability to learn and adapt to the point she’s trying to emulate being a good mother to a human child was creepy and intriguing at the same time.

And Kendra Shaw! Great to see a BSG alum join the show. Holy hotness... I thought she was pretty in Razor but had no idea she was THAT sssmokin! Way to go, Derek! Enjoy it while it lasts, ‘cause it sure looks like your gf isn’t up to any good.

I love how intelligent the writing is on this show, how things evolve in a logical way. Now SkyNet is building its Terminators with failsafe CPUs so the Resistance can’t reprogram them anymore. Very clever. It makes sense in the context of the future war, makes sense from the standpoint of how a megacomputer would think and strategize, AND works within the story by giving the writers a way of not having to deal with the potential problem of programmed and counter-programmed Terminators running around.

So glad we have a full season’s worth of eps to look forward to. Right now I think the writing crew on this show is second only to the BSG group amongst genre shows, and perhaps equal to the Lost writers.

Once again, TSCC kicked massive quantities of ass.

The scene with Cromartie coming to the Connors’ place and just narrowly missing John was tense, though I did want to slap that stupid Riley for being so naïve.

Next week is going to be a big one, with someone dying. Seems like it’s going to be Cromartie, but I hope it’s Riley. John needs to suffer a personal loss that will directly affect him and make him realize he has to be ready to make sacrifices if he wants any kind of normal life.

I’m really curious what Ellison’s significance is, though. So far, they’ve been very careful to not show Cromartie and CEO-1001 together, but last night, Cromartie saving Ellison further tightened Weaver’s grip on Ellison. But what’s really interesting is that it seemed like Cromartie went AGAINST SkyNet by killing the Ellison-Terminator that had been sent back. He even said something like, “SkyNet doesn’t have faith in you, but I do.”

Cameron shooting those petty thieves was hardcore. DAMN. I loved it. It made sense, as cold-blooded as it was. And Sarah’s decision to spare that fourth kid could very well come back to haunt her.

I didn't watch TTSCC last season. I caught up over the summer and was impressed.

This season, it's one of the few shows (Supernatural, True Blood, Dexter are the others) that I really look forward to. I keep up with Fringe, despite really disliking the pilot, but it's still not as interesting as any of the other four shows I mentioned.

There are so many questions about what the terminators are up to -- what the hell is Weaver doing? It looks as though she's building Skynet, but is that really the case? Why is she so interested in Cromartie? Why is he called Cromartie and not T-xxx(x)? Why does Cromartie think that Ellison will lead him to John? Why did Skynet send a T-Ellison? Why is my officemate playing bad reggae?

The only bum episode so far ws the one where Cameron remembered "her" past. I liked that Glau got to show a bit of range, but glitchy Terminator is boring. Of course, it helped to set up events in the most recent episode, so maybe I should just shut up.

Fox will be moving this show to Fridays, where it will be paired up with Dollhouse.

So obviously, Fox is planning on axing both shows.

Cromartie, Noooo! I was actually a bit sad to see him die. But after initially wanting Riley to bite it, the writers did what they've been doing the entire series: make me care for a character, or at least empathize with them. The scenes with Riley and John did a much better job conveying her true personality and their bond with one another than any of the previous episodes, and I ended up thinking it would really suck if she died.

I liked how they changed up the structure to show the events leading up to Mexico from the perspectives of each character, and especially loved Ellison's "reveal" when he opened the trunk of the car to free Sarah.

Also... Cameron taking her jacket off and laying down next to John on his bed, pink bra visible through that sheer top... Yowza.

I wouldn't care if she was a machine, if she looked like Summer Glau. I'd hit it like there was no tomorrow.
