CRACKED has their ten most regrettable celebrity commercials. Elijah Wood and Sarah Michelle Gellar are both surprisingly unrecognizable. The Gellar commercial I'd heard of: it is infamous for supposedly being the first ever direct jab by one of the fast food giants at another, and supposedly resulted in legal action by McDonald's against Gellar, supposedly culminating in her being disallowed to ever eat at McDonald's because of truth in advertising laws. The Elijah commercial is notable for a couple of reasons, I think: for one, it's not bad. Secondly, apparently there was a time when schlubby guys in commercials and sitcoms could be married to homely women. The Keanu Reeves commercial actually seems vaguely familiar: maybe it's just that every cereal commercial exhibited a shot of somebody devouring a mouthful of cereal with a look of eyes-closed euphoria. To my surprise, the celebrity appearance in a commercial that was most embarrasing by far was Seth Green. He's always so amused and ironic and detached that I wouldn't think anything would phase him too much or he'd ever do anything that would phase him too much, I suppose. But if I were him, watching that would make me cry. As a general note on these commercials, it's somewhat surprising how the use of so many of these products apparently results in fucking.
