I just watched Rocky 3 and it's still freaking awesome.

I'm about to head out the door to see Clone Wars.

Fanboys had better be bracing themselves...

Since I upgraded to HDTV I got a bunch of free movie channels and since I'm staying home a lot more due to the boy, I've actually gotten time to watch a lot of them too. So here's a list of what I've watched since mid August, in no particular order.

Of all of them, probably the best one was The Great Outdoors, (I haven't seen it in years, and its still great). U571 was pretty good. 30 Days of Night was cool. The Brave One was pretty good. Rocky 6 was very boring until the training montage, then it got interesting, but I would rather watch pretty much any other Rocky before watching this again, (other than 5, it sucked!).

The rest were somewhere between crappy and mediocre. And I think everyone I got done watching and was happy I hadn't paid to see them.

It was okay. Too touchy feely for my tastes.

Vacancy

It was pretty good. Kate Bekinsale looked hot, as always and it was a decent suspense flick with out any of the hokiness of say the Saw movies.

I'm rewatching them on my new HDTV with the boy, (actually he's sleeping through a lot, but I'm sure it won't be the last time we watch them together).

I'm very impressed with the picture and special effects. For movies that are 30 years old, they look DAMN good. Other than some of the costumes/hairstyles that are obviously 70s'ish it's very hard to tell how old they are. The special effects look even more impressive on the HDTV. I expected them to look dated due to the better picture on the TV, but I was wrong. The 120 Htz scanning definitely makes it look more realistic also.

Just get 'im used to it now and by the time he's old enough to start talking and and retain memories, it'll just be part of his life. He won't be able to escape it.

Neither. The original releases on DVD, that are I think the same as "works-in-progress" versions you reference, but I could be wrong.

I'm a sucker for all things Star Wars, but I bought this set when it came out and could not justify buying the next set that came out, (even though it had the original versions, which I wanted. Some day we will get a box set of all 6 that will include the original versions as well as the special editions and I will buy that. But until we get a set with all 6 movies, I will not be buying these movies again.

Quantum of Solace

It was pretty meh. Boring for the most part, and I didn't care for how the action scenes were shot. All diced up into 1 second cuts. I think I saw somebody hit somebody once.

Jedi was good as always. Boiler Room and Striptease I never caught back in the day, both were decent. Demi Moore is SMOKIN' in Striptease. Those fun-bags are definitely fake, but damn if they don't look nice!

Water Horse was okay, kids probably liked it more than I did. Zoom was fairly lame, more for kiddies. Casino Royale was good again. Just wanted to rewatch it before I see QoS later this month, (hopefully).

I Netflixed You, Me and Dupree. It was a sack of shit.

Christmas Vacation on Saturday night.

I still laughed out loud and I've seen it so many times I can practically recite the whole thing.

Clark's gonna have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby danced with Danny Fucking Kaye.
