Latest rumor is that Axl will star in a reality show, where we can all watch him not ever finish Chinese Democracy. Can't. Wait.

I love how the 7UP/Dr. Pepper Co. has shoehorned itself in on the 12-year running joke known as Chinese Democracy. If the album releases in 2008, every person in America is entitled to a free 20oz bottle of Dr. Pepper.

Maybe Axl will do everyone a favor and not release it until democracy actually comes to China.

I will be getting that free Dr. Pepper, whether Chinese Democracy comes out or not. Though I may need a smoke bomb to cover my escape.

I was reading the March announcement, and Dr. Pepper's director of marketing said:

It took a little patience to perfect Dr Pepper's special mix of 23 ingredients, which our fans have come to know and love. So we completely understand and empathize with Axl's quest for perfection -- for something more than the average album. We know once it's released, people will refer to it as 'Dr Pepper for the ears' because it will be such a refreshing blend of rich, bold sounds - an instant classic.

So if they're so damn understanding of the time it's taking, why the incentive push for Axl to release the cd this year? Sounds like a little bit of double talking to me. Plus, really? Dr. Pepper for the ears? Do you really want your product to be tied into what's already a giant joke in the music industry? I mean seriously, the odds have to be one in a billion that this thing will top GNR's past efforts (except maybe that Spaghetti shit album), and it took forever to make. It's Chinese Democracy, for god sakes! If you're going to take goddamn forever to put it out, at least release it around the time of the Beijing Olympics. Not after they're all but forgotten.

I predict that Axl will release another new album within the course of the next two years. I also predict that it will be received more warmly than Chinese Democracy.

I predict that the next World War will be fought with Chinese Democracy discs being thrown as razor frisbees.

So was anyone actually able to register for the free soda? I tried throughout the day and made absolutely zero progress. I will consider the "day" I spent on this to be a tradeoff against whatever time I would've spent in the remainder of my life drinking Dr. Pepper. In other words, from this day forth, Dr. Pepper is dead to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
