I watched both NCISs on Tuesday. Original was AWESOME and LA was pretty good. Last night, against my better judgement, I watched Mercy. The dialogue wasn't anywhere near as ear-clawing as I thought it was going to be, based on the promos, but I don't think I liked it. There is no redeemable quality about the main character, Veronica. Kate Mulgrew played her mother though, and was kind of a hoot, so, I dunno...

Tonight is FlashForward but I don't think I'll watch that until the weekend because NBC comedy gets my attention, tonight.

I watched The Forgotten, FlashForward and The Cleveland Show up to this point, as far as new stuff goes.

The Forgotten is very obviously a blend of Cold Case and Bones, but it's not necessarily a bad blend. I did find myself wondering, though, why the cops couldn't have figured out the things they figured out in the episode. The character they referred to as "W," though (the repair man... who was also a Deputy on "Jericho"), was great. He made the show, for me, and will bring me back on Tuesday (or whenever I get around to watching it on the DVR). Incidentally, Christian Slater, who's supposed to be the draw, did very little for me.

FlashForward was good enough to get me to watch again this coming Thursday, which, I guess, is all one can ask for, these days. Lots of mystery muck to sort through and I like how they guaranteed themselves a season finale by mentioning the date all their flashforwards took place in. Clever (leeetle bit of sarcasm there).

The Cleveland Show had it's moments, but I'm going to need to watch a few more. Family Guy's pilot is weak compared to the rest of the body of work, and I can't remember my reaction to Ameircan Dad's pilot, off hand, but I love that show, now, so...

Interesting note: Did anyone catch Seth McFarlane in FlashForward? How'd that happen?

Interesting note #2: I actually enjoyed The Simpsons. Sure, you could call it a ripoff of the Milhouse-becomes-Fallout-Boy episode from a long time ago, but I liked it. Sue me.

I'm going to give Trauma a shot, tonight. Only a shot, though.

Interesting thought #3: Going back to Mercy (I don't know why, but just go with it...), I think the whole character and everything that comes with her (including Kate Mulgrew) would've worked better on season 15 of ER. Maura Tierny left the show, so they could've had room for her. Just saying.

I watched Trauma last night. It wasn't bad... but I don't understand it's necessity. Plus, there was so much action in this episode that I felt like I had to take a nap afterward. I don't know how they can keep that up for 20-24 episodes a year.

Also, the black paramedic... he has to cheat on his wife because he can't bring home the... trauma of the accident that happened at the beginning of the episode? Maybe I missed something, but I don't get that at all...

I thought Accidentally On Purpose, (Elfman's show), was pretty funny having just had a kid a year ago. My reaction to my wife being pregnant wasn't far off from Elfman's character's reaction. It really is a thinly veiled rip off of "Knocked-Up", which I liked, so maybe that's part of it. I'll watch again this week and see if it stays good, or gets stupid.

Haven't watched ANYTHING else except Heroes' first 2, (or is it 3 because of the 2 hour premiere?), episodes. I was out of town from Thursday to Sunday, so I didn't have time to watch anything else. I have a feeling I will have VERY little time to watch much of anything for the next couple weeks. I'm just trying to keep ahead of my DVR so it doesn't delete anything!

I forgot Trauma started last night but I'm going to try to catch the pilot this weekend. Seems dumb, but I'll try an ep. or two.

Mercy looked like a lame attempt to keep ER going, but without any of the old cast. I agree it should have been season 15 of that show and they could have kept anyone that wanted to stay, (not many from what I heard).

Oh, and as for missing Community 85 times that's because I do NOT watch live TV, so I didn't see that it was being re-aired. I had to actively search out what new shows were starting this year because I didn't know much about anything, (other than Flash-Forward). And because Ipsy bricked on the Up-Fronts this year!! I keed! I keed!

WHY YOU LITTLE!

I am thoroughly enjoying NCIS: LA. Linda Hunt as Hetty is just fantastic and they always give her something to say to someone else (or to no one in particular, as in Tuesday's episode) that brings a smile to my face. She's like the Yoda of the group, in wisdom and stature. I've seen her before, but I've never seen any of her work. Maybe I should seek it out. She's great.

I watched the Pilot episode of Trauma last night.

My wife fell asleep about 35 minutes in so that gives you a clue as to what she thought.

I thought it was okay. It seems like they said, "we want a show with as much action in ONE episode as an ENTIRE season of ER". The plot was predictable in places and stupid in others, (the black guy can't talk to his wife about his friends dying so he has to pick up strange women? WTF???). I like the chick, she is/was good as the sister on Damages. The hot-shot, (is that guy supposed to be Maverick in a flight-for-life chopper?!?), seems stupid. I mean come ON, how does he survive that crash? I know they show that he is thrown out, but that is a BIG stretch to me, even if he was in a coma for a while. I like the ER doc, (what's he from?), but it seems like he's a tacked on character with little to do.

Over all I'd give it about 2 1/2 stars. I've got episode 2 DVR'd from Monday, so I'll probably watch it. If its not better than the first episode, I may give up. We'll see.

Forgot to mention my wife watched the first 2 episodes of "The Good Wife", (without me ), and she liked them. She says she'll watch them again with me, so it must be good, right??? We'll see....

I watched the first 2 episodes of "The Good Wife" and "Modern Family". Here are my thoughts.

"The Good Wife" seems ripped from the headlines, (Spitzer?), but its pretty good. I liked the first two episodes and will keep watching it as long as my wife stays interested. Despite being a legal drama they have a fair amount of cleavage which adds to the fun. The assistant, (the Indian woman), is smokin'!!

Modern Family is pretty funny. Al Bundy playing the rich patriarch of the family is great. Its almost like he divorced Peg, got rich and is on to his second, "trophy", wife. There are some pretty funny moments in it. I loved the "cool" dad character. Him stealing a kid's bike in the 2nd episode was funny. I'll keep watching.

I watched the first episode of The Forgotten. It was okay. Very much like the 2 shows you mention. I'll probably try another episode or two, but not sure if I'll last. I'm not a big fan of these procedural shows. Especially the ones that you know aren't going to have a great ending because they start with a murder. The only one I've watched for a while is SVU and that is because my wife loves it and because over the years their stories have gotten just ridiculous which makes them fun, (come on, the ADA in the latest episode I saw got sent to re-hab for showing up drunk to a trial for someone using a "I'm an alcoholic" defense. That's out there, but it was interesting to watch!).

I'm hooked on FlashForward. I've seen the first 3 episodes now and I think they have all been pretty good. I'm hoping to get time tonight to watch last week's episode so I'm caught up for tomorrow. I'm not sure I agree with your guess that the date of the flash forwards will be the finale. Isn't this kind of like Lost? If they get to that end point, the date of the flash forwards, (the date of rescue for Lost), isn't the show pretty much over? My only gripe so far is that the flash forwards are all at about 10 PM LA time, but for some reason that female FBI agent is getting an ultrasound during hers? WTF? What doctor's office is open at 10? So MAYBE she's in a different time zone, but that would mean she is somewhere in Asia or the Pacific Rim, right? That seems very odd to me.

Do you know who is working on this show? Is it the guys behind Lost, (Damon & Lindelof)? I just wonder because there are a lot of Lost alums on the show. I think I've seen 3 so far, (Penny, Charlie and I thought I saw one other).

I gave up on Trauma. Watched 2 eps, wasn't thrilled with it and didn't watch any more. I saw two episodes on my DVR last night before it was about to record a 3rd so I asked my wife if she wanted to keep watching it. She agreed that she wasn't impressed either, so delete. Feels good to drop a show.

Watched an episode of Smallville over the weekend and was VERY confused. Realized my DVR had eaten the season premiere. That's part of the reason I decided to drop Trauma.

I also watched the season premiere of Stargate: Universe. It was okay. Not as great as it could have been, but the premise will bring me back for at least a few more episodes. I like the geek that "won" the game. He's pretty cool. I was happy "Shooter" McGavin didn't make it past the first episode. His character was a d-bag. Anyone know if Lou Diamond Phillips' character survived? I wasn't sure at the end of the episode.
