I was busy creating posters for the German film club, so I didn't get to see the game.

It was pretty exciting hitting refresh on ESPN.go.com, though.

Sounds like it must have been one helluva game.

I guess I kinda feel sorry for the Patriots. A perfect season in the NFL would have been something. The Professionals are too balanced out, generally, to let that sort of thing happen. Still, though, they made history with their regular season, and the Giants got to etch their names on the front of the Underdog Yearbook. So congrats to both teams, right?

I suppose it would be a bigger deal if I gave more than half a damn about the NFL.

Great game; shitty commercials.

I thougt the 'Shaq jockeying a race horse' commercial was pretty good.

That was brilliant.

The Shaq commercial was one of the best... but being the best among shit isn't all that great.

The funniest Super Bowl commercial wasn't even a Super Bowl commercial: they guy that puts out a mouse trap with a dorito, then gets his ass kicked by a guy in a mouse suit that crashes through the wall... that debuted months ago. But, I still laughed heartily.

I suppose I should clarify that my comment was directed at Bill Simmons' article, and not the Shaq commercial. The Shaq commercial was amusing, but nothing I'd ever refer to as brilliant.

I figured it could go either way.

The commercials were awful.

They were better than last year's, but that is not saying much.

In real life, I LOVE cats, and cat humor is one of my weaknesses.

I was reading Bill Simmons's latest mailbag column, and of course every single email was about the recent Super Bowl. Some of them were pretty funny, but this was my favorite:

So ... yeah. I manage a bar in Boston, and after the worst Boston sports moment since 2003, the phone began to ring ... a total of 11 calls came in from random people in New York, 411-ing bars in Boston to heckle us. One of the bartenders is from Chicago, and she was completely perplexed. I simply explained, "This is why we hate New York so much." She nodded and said, "Now I see." I don't care how awful Boston sports fans can be, have any of us ever 411-ed New York bars? No, we simply roll cars with New York plates onto their roofs.

Honestly, if I was Goodell, I'd tell him to kiss my ass and show me what jurisdiction he has. This is an internal matter of a private corporation. No laws were broken.

While they're at it, they should start an investigation on shitty officiating. (Basketball mostly, but Football too)
