I really don't want to see any of them. Ok, maybe Metallica. Maybe...

I voted for Plant and Krauss. They will both be coming to St. Louis, so I'd probably be better off seeing them that way.

I don't really have the time or money for festivaling, sadly.

I'd love to see RP & AK, but they are playing on Sunday after we leave. Dammit.....

I'd also love to see Jack Johnson set himself on fire, and then jump on Metallica.

After spending 72 hours in a veritable den of hippiness and stank, it's time to assess. Bottom line: Bonnaroo is amazing. We (wife and I) collectively thought that the entire weekend would suck royally. The only reason that the wife wanted to go was to prove our "still hipness" after having our first child. Me? I just didn't want to go because I hate music festivals. The heat, the high prices, the shifty food, the jackass people. I was convinced that I was in for a weekend of hell.

I am delighted to report that it did not suck. In fact, I want to go back...

Here are my top bands at Bonnaroo. Keep in mind, I didn't watch anyone's whole show. I floated. Which is a great thing about the whole festival.

1. The Raconteurs - Their albums are great. And live, they are phenomenal. Jack White is a god.

2. Levin Helm and the Ramble on the Road - The man is a legend. And he did some Band songs to boot!

3. My Morning Jacket - Friday night. Torrential downpour. 4 hour set. Kirk Hammett sitting in on the encore.

4. Gogol Bordello - One of the best live shows around.

5. Against Me! - Frigging badasses...

Honorable mention: M.I.A., Adele, Backdoor Slam, Cat Power, Jose Gonzalez, Metallica (for all of their suckitude, they rocked).

I ran into Levon Helm's sister at a local restaurant a few month's ago.

She's a nice lady.

She works at the already mentioned restaurant.

Like I said, a very nice lady. What's strange is my family has known her forever and even knew her last name was Helm but never put two & two together until that conversation a few months ago (actually, more like one month ago).

She said he primarily lives in Woodstock, NY now and puts on little shows from time to time at his house there.

Of course it goes without saying that he still goes out and does the bigger shows when asked.

Metallica still sucks balls. I'm not saying they didn't rock. They did friggin "Creeping Death" for god's sake!

Levon said that anytime anyone's in Woodstock that they should stop on by. I'm thinking of doing that.

I heard Pearl Jam did a 'kick ass' rendition of All Along the Watchtower.

True. That was their encore that I slept through.
